Warby Parker – Palm Canyon Collection

palmcanyon-blog-1

Lush desert landscapes, color pops of lush green foliage, cascading palm trees rustling with the dry breeze; this is the picturesque scene of what I have come to love about Palm Springs, CA. While I haven’t been for years, I still manage to get that old Hollywood glamour vibe from the surrounding deserted car washes, theaters, and restaurants every time I can visit. These inspirational landmarks have inspired a new collection of eyeglasses & sunglasses by Warby Parker.

There are four frames within the collection that took over a year to design and construct with no two frames exactly the same. I have to say my favorite pair would have to be the Duckworth Painted Desert eyeglass frames. The woodworked texture is phenomenal and the round shape is something I am becoming more and more accustomed to when looking for new eyewear. The Wheeler sunnies in Revolver Black remind me of a smaller version of Celine’s with it’s overly thick black frames. I have been lusting for a pair similar to that of Celine but without the Celine price tag attached and these are the perfect compromise.

What I love most about Warby Parker is their at-home try-on functionality. You can pick 5 pairs of eyeglasses or sunglasses to try on at home 100% free for 5 days! I have always been hesitant to purchase any type of eyewear online without trying on something similar beforehand and Warby’s at-home try-on eliminates all risk. Not to mention the price of frames INCLUDES your prescription lenses. I know, I was just as shocked to find that out as well! Kudos must also go out to their online marketing approach. Their simplistic design almost makes you want to purchase something outright, by far the best website I have yet to visit for trendy eyewear at reasonable prices. For those of you who (like me) want to make your eyewear selection as large as your overflowing shoe collection this is the way to go.

View some additional shots from the Warby Parker Palm Canyon Collection below and be sure to visit their website here for more information! I will be sending off for my 5 day try-ons ASAP.

Zara Basics

Zarabasics1

Had the perfect weather on Saturday for big coats and little skirts. I have gradually been transitioning my closet into basic pieces that will stand the test of time. After going through a ton of old clothes from high school/college I have realized that just because you have space for things doesn’t always mean you should keep them. Decided to play down the shortness of the skirt with a baggy t-shirt and keep my legs looking lengthy with these heeled boots. My name is Stephanie and I have a Zara addiction.

Green Leather

So as you might have already guessed…I chopped off all my hair! I feel lucky to be one of those individuals who isn’t super attached to my hair. I’m constantly bored with my cuts so going short just seemed the right move, it’s a vicious cycle. Either way I really like it and hopefully it will reflect well in my style.

Just a quick post today, I received this jacket for Christmas after almost making the purchase a few months back but turning back on it. So glad my mom kept it in mind for me! I am obsessed with leather jackets and the green just really seems to pop for fall/winter. What you can’t see in this picture is the back of the jacket which sits higher up on your back and crosses over. Will definitely be posting more of this jacket when the time comes considering we were losing light quickly today! I also grabbed these boots from Zara with the gift card Nick got me for Christmas. Although they are a size too big they are incredibly comfortable and hits in the perfect spot to wear with mini dresses this spring!

Lingerie Style

I finally found the perfect lingerie style dress at H&M right before Christmas and just had to have it. What you can’t see is the lace accents on the top of the dress but I wanted to show it’s versatility with layering. I threw on my UNIF shredded shredded sweater over it and voila, you have some edgy fun.

I also found this amazing lightweight speckled blazer at the thrift store during my last visit. I must say for $10 it doesn’t disappoint.

NYE Inspo

I wanted to share with you guys a little NYE inspiration since I know it is quickly approaching for all of us. Now normally we all run to sparkly skirts, dresses, or even cropped tops but for myself I thought hey why not change it up. I bought this flirty little romper a few months back and of course I haven’t had anywhere to wear it. So to give it more of a Hollywood Glam look I threw on my faux fur collar (which by the way was an amazing investment) and a little brown belt.

Of course I also had to add a little something black so I paired the romper with some black accessories. The main one being this chic Oil Slick Envelope Clutch by Winky Designs. What I love most about the clutch is that it includes a really thin chain that allows you to make it into a cross body. If you’re like me, you won’t be able to keep a purse under your arm or in your hands for an entire night.

Be sure to check out their site for these rad envelope clutches, fashion watches, and more! They are having 25% off their Oh So Clutch! collection and free shipping until the end of the year. Also if you find something else that draws your eye use the coupon code UNCONSCIOUSSTYLE13 to receive 10% your order (expires January 1st at midnight).

Zara Camel Coat

Finally purchased this coat I had been lusting over for the past 2 months. Unfortunately they ran out of an XS so I opted for the small. At the end of the day it worked out better since I intend on wearing a lot of sweaters underneath it and I’m usually a fan of being able to bend my arms completely. Camel accents black and white so perfectly so I knew it would go well with my current wardrobe. Zara has such an amazing assortment of coats for a reasonable price and since H&M sold out of the few I had been interested in purchasing I’m glad I could finally snag this one for a mere $80.

On a side note if you are looking to invest in a coat and aren’t able to splurge I would recommend checking your local GoodWill or other second hand clothing store nearby. You can find really high quality coats for around $20! While thrifting isn’t for everyone, designer wool coats will last a long time and you can barely tell they were ever worn. Why not reuse if you can right?

StyleSpotter

A few months back I was graciously asked to test out a new upcoming app called StyleSpotter. This app allows you to share your fashion expertise with other members through sharing your style picks. You can save those pair of Sam Edelman booties you’ve been dying to buy or you can create entire categories of style inspiration ranging from shoes to fall coats to the perfect evening handbags!

stylespotter4

The thing I enjoy most about this app is it gives me a great way to organize my favorite seasonal pieces while also giving myself a great guideline for narrowing down my spending. IF you are like me, there is always a new season of designs coming out and your wallet just can’t seem to keep up. By portioning out my favorite pieces I can focus on when my budget will align with that pair of knee high boots I’ll be needing this winter. Once you select an item you will automatically be pushed to the website if you want to proceed with purchasing! Super easy right? The layout is very clean & simple, plus they are constantly increasing their product assortment. Some of the big names they already have include Zara, Nordstroms and Urban Outfitters.

stylespotter2

Definitely give this one a go if you are a frequent online window shopper like myself, it will help you organize and find fashion inspiration for every upcoming season.

For more information and to download StyleSpotter from the app store visit their site here!

American Gold

Finally back on my blog game. It’s been incredibly crazy with the Holiday’s and end of the year shenanigans at work. A few weeks back I took a trip to LA for the Spanish Moss warehouse/sample sale. I am pleased to announce I picked up this little fringy number after pulling a ton of other items which ended up being no-go’s.

I usually don’t frequent sample sales just because I don’t live in the LA area but this one was relatively mellow. At one point however another girl was giving me the evil eye because she had the same exact dress on hold which had mysteriously gone missing. After 3 times of explaining that this was not her dress (mine is missing the top button) she backed down…a bit.

I paired this dress with a recent thrifted coat purchase. I stepped into my local Goodwill looking for a 70s style furry coat and low and behold this baby just happened to cross my path. Although the fabric is a little cheesy and it sheds (a lot), it was still worth it. All I need is a pair bell bottoms and I’ll be the spitting image of Jackie from that 70s show!

First off, not being able to blog as much lately has really been a downer. I truly miss sharing my everyday looks with all of you. Be sure to follow my Instagram for more frequent updates. It is more evident every single day that I am becoming a shopaholic. These insane black friday, cyber monday, and sample sale deals have drained my bank account. But with these amazing sales, I was finally was able to purchase something from Reformation this last weekend and I couldn’t be happier. This is the softest sweater I have ever had the pleasure of slipping my arms into. One of the main reasons I love their pieces are the sheer simplicity of design and the fact that they are constantly bettering their impact on the earth by using surplus fabrics and green practices in production. I am proud to say that I am officially a #RefBabe.

I also apologize for the lighting and blurred photos in advance. I think it adds a little something extra but it was not originally planned. I will be shooting tons of looks this weekend so prepare for some higher quality.

Time for Tartan

Time for Tartan

I have a mean case of Tartan on the mind. These pieces are such great essentials for winter and fall. If I could buy the middle look in time for Thanksgiving I definitely would but alas, I think time has been cut too short for this one. I’ll hopefully find a different alternative but I believe I will be sporting as similar a skirt as I can find and pairing it with a nice warm sweater.

What will you be wearing this Thanksgiving?
