Zara Basics

Zarabasics1

Had the perfect weather on Saturday for big coats and little skirts. I have gradually been transitioning my closet into basic pieces that will stand the test of time. After going through a ton of old clothes from high school/college I have realized that just because you have space for things doesn’t always mean you should keep them. Decided to play down the shortness of the skirt with a baggy t-shirt and keep my legs looking lengthy with these heeled boots. My name is Stephanie and I have a Zara addiction.

Zara Camel Coat

Finally purchased this coat I had been lusting over for the past 2 months. Unfortunately they ran out of an XS so I opted for the small. At the end of the day it worked out better since I intend on wearing a lot of sweaters underneath it and I’m usually a fan of being able to bend my arms completely. Camel accents black and white so perfectly so I knew it would go well with my current wardrobe. Zara has such an amazing assortment of coats for a reasonable price and since H&M sold out of the few I had been interested in purchasing I’m glad I could finally snag this one for a mere $80.

On a side note if you are looking to invest in a coat and aren’t able to splurge I would recommend checking your local GoodWill or other second hand clothing store nearby. You can find really high quality coats for around $20! While thrifting isn’t for everyone, designer wool coats will last a long time and you can barely tell they were ever worn. Why not reuse if you can right?

Time for Tartan

Time for Tartan

I have a mean case of Tartan on the mind. These pieces are such great essentials for winter and fall. If I could buy the middle look in time for Thanksgiving I definitely would but alas, I think time has been cut too short for this one. I’ll hopefully find a different alternative but I believe I will be sporting as similar a skirt as I can find and pairing it with a nice warm sweater.

What will you be wearing this Thanksgiving?

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

I’m really getting into the fall mood lately. I just purchased this MinkPink Zippora Jumper (shown above) and I can’t wait for the air to feel crisp again. Currently I am lusting over tan and dusty pink over coats and baby blue fuzzy sweaters. Who would have thought baby blue would be such a fall color but it makes me even more excited for winter to come. I am also thinking of getting a sherpa lined moto jacket in the near future. My favorite piece I own is my H&M leather jacket but I would love to have one more winter appropriate.

For those of you who don’t use Polyvore I would highly recommend it. If you are like me and cruise around online sites getting inspiration or window shopping it helps to get all of your ideas down onto something legible. PLus it makes it easy to share with others 🙂

Fall Fur

FallFur3

We have experienced the first signs of fall with a little rainfall yesterday. While the rain has already subsided the chilled October air is still present. I’m really glad I purchased this fur jacket by UNIF at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately I didn’t get much wear out of it originally considering Nasty Gal was emptying their inventories for Spring and it never gets below 70s down here. Best part about this jacket is it works best with simple pieces like a white tee and some waxed denim jeans.

Birthday Wish List

Birthday Wish List

And it’s not even my birthday…yet. Been lusting over these pieces this past week and I believe with my birthday coming up it is the perfect opportunity to pump up my fall wardrobe. I am in love with cowl neck sweaters and this UNIF piece gives me everything and more. Versatility is the most important part of my wardrobe, I desperately need clothes that can be worn to an office (business casual) as well as Disneyland on the weekends. The heels would most likely be limited to the office or a nice evening out but I must say they are some classy looking boots. I can just see my legs becoming skyscrapers in them! Lingerie style dresses have been on my want list for awhile (ahem Reformation everything) and this Zara piece is right within my price range, I might have to treat myself to this baby.

What staples are you looking to purchase this fall?

Back in Black

The overcast weather in So Cal is making it a lot easier for me to start dressing for fall. Granted it gets up to 80 degrees during the day, I’m safe and sound inside my ice box of an office. After seeing tons of bloggers rocking the lace up Zara heels at Fashion Week I quickly remembered I had purchased some MIA lace up wedges years ago that look almost identical. I have pushed aside this pair for quite sometime, my last memory of them was far from positive, more like cringing from how uncomfortable my feet felt. When I slipped them on this morning I realized that I must have been a major cry baby back in the day because these are actually incredibly comfortable for heels (minus the “breaking in” blisters that are forming).

Boyfriend’ Out

I am having some serious blues about New York Fashion Week occurring and I’m sitting at home/work. Hopefully next year I will be able to attend at least one of the shows and mark it off my bucket list of things I hope to accomplish. In honor of Fashion Week and the start of Fall I decided to go simple today in my GAP boyfriend denim and my actual boyfriends t-shirt. I’m reminiscing to my high school days where I only wore mens v-neck undershirts. This occurred during the time where retailers felt women weren’t a fan of oversized. I’m glad to say women’s fashion finally caught up to me (partially due to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). Either way I will still be a sucker for wearing mens clothing, sometimes you just can’t get the same effect, plus I can smell Nick all day (don’t worry he smells good).

Stay tuned for some posts on my favorite pieces from NYFW! A girl can lust dream right?

Zara All Black Everything

Zara All Black Everything

I’m currently lusting over these Zara black basics. Definitely purchasing all of these come my next paycheck. Although I am still aching for some summer threads I know that Winter Is Coming (for those GOT fans) and I need to prepare. I have been looking for a pair of laced up leather pants and these Zara look-a-like pair are giving me everything. A dainty black camisole and these patent open ankle boots will not only go with everything in my wardrobe, but look how well they already compliment each other! For every colored item in my closet I think I counter act it with at least 4 black pieces but hey, who doesn’t love the way black looks on?
