Casual Beach Wear

There’s something about a simple striped tee that I can’t seem to get over. Unfortunately I was being extremely pick with my choice. For one, I wanted it to be a good price and secondly I wanted it to be a super soft boyfriend fit. After a few weeks of searching I finally stumbled upon this beauty from Brandy Melville which never seems to let me down with basics. I also resurrected these MIA fringe sandals that I couldn’t resist bringing out on this sunny day in So Cal.

A little beach inspired for all of you gypsies and mermaids out there. Sometimes all you need is a crochet cropped top, flowy skirt, and layers upon layers of jewelry. I purchased this crochet cropped top from Brandy Melville and this was the first time I got the chance to wear it! Finally the weather prevails and I can bring it out from hiding. Although I’d prefer the straps shorter I can’t really complain considering it was EXACTLY what I was looking for in a crochet top.

On a side note, had an awesome lunch at Bear Flag in Newport. Lemon buttered Yellow Tail with roasted veggies and rice… enough said. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am to live so close to the beach. This little spot has an amazing view, we had some fun taking pictures of all the cute little sail boats.

In a last minute frenzy to pack for Huntington Beach I grabbed the few pieces (and I mean few) that would help me beat the heat. While my ancient pair of Abercrombie shorts and my Brandy Melville tank are easy to wear to the beach it’s a little much (less) when your running around doing errands. I threw on my Royal Blue boyfriend blazer from H&M and GoJane studded booties for a very casual look. Bright colored blazers are perfect to wear when you need to dress up an outfit. I love mixing anything professional looking with something on the tattered side.

Ps. You don’t know how hard it is to find a good tank top. This Brandy Melville one I picked up is perfect. Cropped, tight, and strappy. Perfect for layering, especially with anything high waisted. You’ll be able to tuck without the bunch 🙂

Full blown Brand Melville aside from the lace kimono. Was feeling the gloomy weather we have been having with these massive weather mood swings in So Cal. Chose a more comfortable route as I much rather would have stayed in bed all day, or gotten a free slurpee from 7-11!

This past weekend Nick and I visited Laguna Beach to celebrate our one year anniversary. It was one of the most relaxing vacations I’ve ever been on and the weather was perfect. Nothing like walking out of your hotel room and onto the sand. Aside from eating some amazing food, laying out and taking some long walks on the beach, I still managed to get a few shots of my outfits. The theme for this relaxing getaway… printed shorts. The first pair you see are from H&M. I got them for a steal last year as they started blowing out their summer items. The second pair are a printed trouser short from Forever 21 which makes them a little dressier. Both outfits are perfect for this vacation, simple, light weight, but still a fun pop of color!

June gloom has been in full swing this week. My outfits are becoming seriously bipolar. With it being so cloudy outside I can’t help but want to wear my PJ’s to the office, unfortunately, I think thats frowned upon here. I grabbed my favorite Brandy Melville oversized sweater instead. It’s super soft with the perfect amount of thickness to make it easy to wear when its cool out. I haven’t worn this maxi skirt in awhile but I love the maroon color and slit. I know, I know, it’s a little too fall for June but hey, I also broke out my beanie, weather is too unpredictable!

I am in love with these new floral pants I purchased from Brandy Melville. They are so fun and feminine with a little 70s twist. Their clothes really are effortless and give you that beach bum vibe. I could probably sleep in their clothes they are so damn comfortable. Nick and I visited the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach this weekend (his first time) and afterward took a little walk down the pier. It was cloudy and overcast compared to the scorcher the day before but it made it a lot easier to walk around outside.

It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve posted anything, I have been extremely busy with my job, just finishing our annual Global Training Conference which had almost 15,000 people in attendance! The entire week I was bound to black slacks, tennis shoes and T-Shirts, not the greatest uniform, I almost went crazy wearing the same outfit multiple days in a row! As a treat to myself for working roughly 68 hours I purchased my Unif Vapor Moto Jacket. This is such a great piece, while it does feel a little odd when you first put it on you quickly get used to the material. I would however not recommend wearing it on a hot and or sunny day, the material does not breathe very easily. This jacket is perfect to throw over a body-con dress in the evening to spice up your outfit!

Have a great week!

Took a trip out to the Fabric District in Downtown LA to get much needed supplies for an upcoming cosplay for Comic Con. Luckily I had my sister/seamstress there to pick out what I’ll need! Was disappointed we ran out of time to visit Top Shop or Melrose but the downtown vibe was perfect for my grunge inspired outfit. Brandy Melville has been coming out with some amazing pieces. I love the flow and feel of their thin knits and tees, perfect for the drastic weather fluctuations we have been seeing in So Cal. I paired my new cropped tee and beanie with my favorite acid washed Levi’s jean shorts and my boyfriends DC camo jacket. Hope everyone has a great week!

It was a really busy weekend, what better way to utilize some new Brandy Melville duds when you’ve got tons of errands to run on a sunny So Cal day. Although the outfit is pretty simple it is my standard go-to when I’m at a loss for what to wear. I’m obsessed with this new Brandy sweater, its lightweight and extremely soft. I have been looking for a long enough sweater to pair with some of my printed leggings and this turned out to be the perfect fit.
